This is the website of the archives of Kamath Design Studio. Kamath Design Studio produced work informed by an explicitly environmental agenda from 1981 to 2020. The work of the studio aimed to creatively synthesise attitudes and technologies into an aesthetic habitats and way of life. These archives are the ongoing endeavour of collecting, cataloguing, archiving and digitizing the drawings, models, documents and correspondence of Revathi and Vasant Kamath to make this work readily available to students, scholars and practitioners.
Born in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, in 1955, Revathi obtained her bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1977 and a post graduate degree in urban and regional planning in 1981, both from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. Revathi passed away in 2020.
Born in Mangalore, Karnataka, in 1946, Vasant obtained a bachelor’s and post graduate degrees in architecture from The Bartlett, London. Vasant passed away in 2019.
Born in Delhi in 1982, Ayodh obtained a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Sushant School of Art & Architecture, Gurgaon in 2006, a master’s in architectural studies from MIT, Cambridge MA in 2009, and a PhD in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 2022. Ayodh is yet to pass away.
