Set in a natural continuum of rhythm and order with the local context, the amphitheatre at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, comprises stone and grass seating, a water body, and a musical fountain. The amphitheatre functions as a place for meditation every evening before the sun sets, followed by a musical fountain show at night. On occasion it is used as a place for conducting corporate events and political gatherings, and for cultural events like dance dramas and musical performances. The water of the fountain is used as a screen for projection during these events. A small building with a green roof situated behind the stage houses a control room. Materials used are locally available Kharsiya stone, grass and earth.
